Happy Birthday, Darling is a quick read about a husband and wife with an unconventional lifestyle way back in the 1980s. It’s based on something an older friend told me when she and her husband were young and wild. I hope you give it a read, it’s a more-some, a husband, Sam, his wife, Kim, and two strippers hired for Kim’s birthday.

My latest story here, Night Huntress, was my entry in the Halloween Contest. It still hasn’t earned enough votes for me to even see how poorly I did. Poor little me. But it was a fun write, and I hope those who read it enjoyed it!
If you like vampire stories, you might give it a read. I wrote in a rush, and it shows, but I only entered during the last week of eligibility. It hasn’t had a proper edit, and I’m not sure if I’ll send it to my publisher for an edit and publication yet.
But, I’d love to hear from all of you on it. You find it right here, Night Huntress.

Congratulations to the winners: Do Me a Favor by G Younger in first place, Hey Mishta by Tantrayaan in second place, and to The Witch's Brew by Charlie Foxtrot in third. Good work and I salute you.

Hello,
Readers, writers, and those of you who are both, Happy Halloween. I hope that all of you are well and find what you want to read. There are 31 stories in this year's Halloween competition. You should be able to enjoy as many of them as you can, and those who can vote on them should.
Speaking of voting, has anyone noticed the increase in votes required for the score to display for readers? I’m not sure how many. I think 20. The change that bothers me is that writers can no longer see their scores until the tale reaches that amount as well. Since comments are rare (as hen’s teeth) on this site, this makes it a bit frustrating.
Of course, even if we know the score, we can do nothing about it. However, we’d be able to judge if we need to make any changes. Then again, we don’t have a clue why the score is low.
Anyway, I hadn’t made a blog entry in a long time—more than 11 months since the last one. If you’ve read my stories, thank you. If you haven’t, well, check mine out. Be forewarned, I’m an acquired taste.

Another writer reminded me that by entering the contest, I couldn't move First Contact #1: The Strigoi, behind the paywall. I'd either forgotten or, more likely, misread the rule.
I want to thank awnlee jawking for pointing that out. He also suggested I could upload the corrected and expanded version behind the paywall and upload that version for sale.
I think, rather than doing that, I'll leave the version here as is and upload the other version to Bookapy. I'm not ashamed of the original one that was published.
However, I'm angry at myself for rushing through and not letting my editor have time to work on the story in advance. I plan to put the new version (which is about 1000 words longer) on Bookapy today, though it may be late in the day.
Check it out here, First Contact #1; The Strigoi.
