Hello readers,
I’d first like to thank everyone who supported Snow Angel. It was a fun little story that I hope you all enjoyed, it even had a happy ending. I know there were a few problems at the start, but it seemed like readers got into the flow after a few chapters. I’ll say one writing issue I need to work on is making the story stand out and be interesting in the first few chapters. I seem to start slow and eventually build into something, but it should hook you early. I will try to improve on that going forward.
This week, I’ve continued to work on Camping and Sister’s Servant. Camping is going well, despite a lack of proper title. Sister’s Servant has been a struggle, to be honest, as I’m trying to wrap things up in a reasonable way. It just seems to take twice as long as it should for each chapter which sucks. Regardless, it will conclude with the upcoming run of chapters.
So what do I have for you to read this week, you ask? Well, Wednesday sees the return of Sister’s Servant, chapter 12. It’s been a few weeks since the fallout with Corey and his sister, and their mom wants them to make up. The siblings have barely spoken to each other since, while Corey and Tina have fixed their issues. Corey decides he should have a talk with his sister and maybe more.
On the weekend we have the start of whatever Camping will be called (it will likely have a generic title for reasons I’ll get into). The story follows Jane, who is a city girl dragged on a camping trip by her parents who wish to recapture a memory. Hot and sticky weather is forecast for the whole trip. One night, Jane gets up to use the washroom and runs into Curtis, a father also on vacation. Jane finds herself doing things she’s never done before and questions who she really is.
So this story will run for 5 weeks until the end of May. Now, it will be a complete story as it stands but, if there’s interest, I’ve left plenty of paths to go if people would like. That’s why I’m struggling for a generic title so it can continue elsewhere without the ‘Camping’ setup. Maybe it won’t do well, and it won’t matter, but who really knows. It’s just good to have a plan.
Anyway, a short one this week as not much else is going on. Feel free to let me know your thoughts. Thanks for reading and support.
