Soldier/Mercenary Rescues Hostage and Falls in Love

Zynull ๐Ÿšซ

Does anyone remember a story of a Mercenary who is reluctantly hired to rescue a young woman being held hostage where she is a brat but ultimately falls in love with her rescuer?

I think it may have been set in Central/South America.

Some elements sort of fit: https://storiesonline.net/s/12813/the-currency-of-time
She's a slut heiress, he's a roughneck oil dowser set to watch over her. Saves her from being drug raped, except it's a sex game she plays. They end up married, she cheats, he leaves for South America. Ends up in a gun battle with narcos when her lawyers show up flashing money around.

Lumpy's https://storiesonline.net/series/1243/john-taylor series is about a soldier turned private hostage recovery specialist. At least one is partially set in Mexico.

I stopped reading them at some point ("Family Ties" - I've lived in Berlin and the descriptions were ridiculous), but he had a serious girlfriend at that time and that would make the "falls in love with her rescuer" rather messy.
If you are talking about "Border Crossed", the "serious girlfriend" was his partner in that one.

Thanks for the quick replies!

The "Currency of Time" story sounds very interesting and on topic for what I like. I've been thinking about a Premier Membership and this story is making me want to get it sooner!

The John Taylor stories are also on point and I look forward to reading them!

I did remember one additional piece of the story I'm looking to find where the mercenary/soldier may have brought a group with him to rescue the girl and they were ambushed OR they may have been ambushed before which caused him to leave the military and end up being someone who rescues kidnapped people.

I have a vague recollection that GW Research had a story like that. Possibly about an ex SAS hostage rescue specialist. MC recovers a rich child heiress but is betrayed by his employer / team as the employer arranged the kidnapping in the first place.
I may be thinking of another authors story though. CRS sucks.

That sounds a lot like Renpet's Bianca and the Amnesiac, though there may well be others as well.

Nope. Not the one I'm trying to recall.

Actually, it's a fairly common story motif/idiom, so it's an often used storyline, because it does work so well. I can think of many cases, though as usual, I have a hard time naming specific ones.
