A long requested feature of the story content search has been the ability to find text by chapter.
Well, FINALLY, we've implemented that ability.
As of now, in the content search form (in the advanced search page), there is a check box that is checked by default for 'Whole Stories only'. If you uncheck this box, the results will show in which chapter of a long serial the text was found.
Is the "extended search" gone, then? I don't see it in the Story Text Search menu.
For now yes. The new server works differently.
With the new server, I have more power to implement, but since most people have no clue how to use the extended search, it was practically useless except for a very small number of premier members.
I'm planning to replace that functionality with a better interface.

How does it show you? I've just tried a text search with the 'Whole Stores only' box unchecked and I can't see where the chapter is identified?

I searched for an exact match on "perfect spell". Text Search returned 7485 files.
The fourth entry was

In Chapter 1
so a chapter number was returned. I searched the chapter and it contained one occurrence of the word 'perfect' and several occurrences of the word 'spell' but no occurrences of 'perfect spell'. It looks as though exact match no longer guarantees an exact match.

The story has three chapters but no chapter number was given by text search. Each chapter contained at least one 'perfect' and at least one 'spell' but no 'perfect spell'.
