Bookapy vs Bookapyx

Switch Blayde ๐Ÿšซ

Can you explain the two?

I think I now know why I haven't had sales on Bookapy recently. In all my notifications and links, I tell people to go to Bookapy. But my books are no longer there (other than one).

Sure, if they click on the Bookapy ad on SOL it takes them to Bookapyx (with the x), but that's not the typical way people search for my novels. It may explain why my Amazon KDP sales have gone up recently. It's the only place people find my novels (based on where I tell them my novels exist).

Please help me understand.

It's even worse than I thought.

I've been checking my stats on Bookapy (no x). I just went to Bookapyx to check the stats there and I wasn't logged in. I never log out of SOL or Bookapy. So am I a different user on Bookapy and Bookapyx?

That's where I learned about Bookapyx.

I don't know how to log into Bookapyx. I assumed being logged into Bookapy would have me logged into Bookapyx. It doesn't.

I can't check my stats on Bookapyx because I can't log in.

I also wonder how combined sales between the two sites will be calculated and paid. That is, if you have sales on Bookapy and sales on Bookapyx for the same quarter.

As far as I can see, the sales of Bookapy and BookapyX go to the same author account. BookapyX has all your books, and Bookapy only offers a PG-13 subset of them.
I guess we'll learn quickly how to handle that, but we may lose readers (i.e. buyers) to the confusion of two sites with โ€” at first sight โ€” the same URL and page design. It helps that the site name Bookapyx is in red, with the Bookapy site name in blue. The link on the SOL homepage leads you to red, the link on the StoryRoom homepage leads you to blue.
I can understand the reason for the change: The readers at Finestories/StoryRoom, when looking to buy books, found themselves looking at adult material (รก la My Mom Is a Teenage Transsexual). Makes those readers at StoryRoom a bit jittery. Now, all they see are no-sex stories.

Yeah, I didn't realize that. My one no-sex novel is on both.

I was finally able to log into Bookapyx. It looks like I can manage all the novels from either site. So I guess the stats would be for all sales from both sites.

Yes. I also understood the reasons for the change: see my amended previous post.

I don't know about your sales on Amazon, but it was too quick to make a difference.

It's still one site, but each domain provides a certain view onto the site's library depending on where you're coming from. Individual book links are not affected. But search and listings change depending on domains.

The x domain shows everything, the old domain now shows the family friendly subset of the site's library.

Links from storyroom.com will go to the old domain, everything else will go to the new domain.

As far as I can tell, the change didn't affect sales, there was no dip.

As an author, from now use the x domain. It will behave like it used to on the old domain.
