Just finished the three Survivor stories by Scotland the brave and was interested in reading similar stories. Any good recommendations?

Vincent Berg had posted one over February / March but he deleted several stories when things went pear-shaped a few days ago and that was one of them.
It was https://storiesonline.net/n/41654/nowhere-like-home and I think the scores it got were not particularly high.
Most of cmsix's stories were along those lines, and most of those were left unfinished.
Lazlong wrote some in his https://storiesonline.net/universe/142/wagons-ho universe but his health fell apart once he'd completed the third story. "Washed Up" was time-travel, the other two had MCs from that era.
I must admit I stopped reading Scotland the Brave's stories after he posted one - deleted years ago - where he took on the Picts. The terms he used to refer to them was have been similar to the terms the Nazis used when referring to the Slavs, starting with "subhuman" and going downhill from there.
You're right. I got many 'attaboys' for writing it, yet the scores dropped significantly over the last several chapters (which several explained due to a mislabeling on my part), but overall, it wasn't a good look. So while several asked about the potential sequel, I ultimately decided it was a losing cause.
It was a great story concept, which was definitely worth exploring, yet I was forced to rewrite the entire STORY six separate times, just making it 'publishable', despite dropping the most impactful story elements.
In all, it wasn't a good look, openly profiling such a low-rated story very few actually bothered finishing. :(
Sometimes, it's best just cutting the line, rather than killing the fish you're unlikely to land either way.
Thanks (you know what you did!), but it will take a day or three for me to get around to it - I'm off sick and have the attention span of an orange at the moment.
I'll well aware of wandering attention spans. ;) I'm in no rush to delete it, yet given its scoring, it's not what I want to be remembered for. But, until I manage to publish something else, it's my ONLY recent story on SOL.

His Robledo Mountain series has high scores and the story description matches your request.
I think one of the coolest elements In this story is teaching them how to make hamburgers. So many time travel stories concentrate on making fortunes and creating harems and leave out the smaller things.
Ah, maybe you should request a new story tag for hamburger stories ("Ham" sounds like a promising one, nice short and concise). ;)
Not really very similar at all, but:
'Hawk, the Stone Age Spirit Guide' by Paul Phenomenon
AJ
Thanks for the suggestions Dinsdale. I've had similar feelings to how other 'groups' were at times referred to in the story, though overall I enjoyed 90% of it.
Does it have to be travel to the past? I know there is at least one story where the protagonist is at airport/air base where an experimental piece of equipment malfunctions and sends him somewhere else.
What story is that?

I believe there are several similar stories, including one of mine, The Holes Binding Us Together, where the female protagonist, ventures into what she's always avoided, magical gates no one else can see, which take to various locations. Including those not remotely related to Earth or humans. Will they teleport her to safety, doom her forever, or rebuild her life?
I've always been fond of teleportation, telepathic or other strange, otherworldly abilities.

Magic and stuff.
Magic fetches an intellect from 'today' and brings it back a thousand years to inhabit a body of a prince in modern France and Germany.
The transferred intellect brings modern chemistry and industry to the middle ages.
Not exactly as requested, but a good tale of building a society even if ya have to suspend your disbelief more than a few times.

There are a number of published books with that premise. One that reminded me of Proeliator is the Saxon Max series by JG Jerome.
I think Spirit Quest by Fantasy Lover would apply
16-year-old David Whitehorse suddenly finds himself transported more than 1500 years into the past. This is the story of how his parents prepared him and of his life back then: how he used his considerable knowledge and skills, and how he finally came to understand why he ended up back then.
Spirit Quest is definitely the first that comes to mind for me as well, just from reading the title.
