Coming of Age Stories

The world can saddle you with events in your life that change it entirely from tragic to uncharted ways. We all have lived through various tragedies, which is not the focus. Events cannot change the past; the focus must be on the future. These are new uncharted territories of that future that spring from multiple places. This is the first story in that genre. It's 5 chapters and over 60k words.

An Appalachian family has to pull up stakes and move after the coal mine shuts down. On the trip to Oklahoma, cousins Marvin and Jodie find an opportunity to express their love for each other and begin a new chapter in their lives.

This story is A Weekend to Remember, in which a woman turns fantasy into incestuous reality, retold from the perspective of the woman’s 14-year-old nephew. All the actual quoted speech is exactly the same in both versions, but the dialog attributions, the descriptions of the activities, and the internal thoughts of the narrator have been changed to reflect the different viewpoint.
