A Halloween 2021 Contest Entry
A short Halloween story with a bit of paranormal stuff thrown in. Takes place in the American Southwest a few years back perhaps. A first story for me. I'd like to thank RLFJ for all his help in editing and in posting and background advice. It's a vastly better story with his input, any errors are mine of course, as I am a bit stubborn.
The Lakeside Motel was located at the end of a lonely street with no sign of a lake anywhere. Room 69 was the crime scene of a long-forgotten murder. Now Roberto Mancha is meeting his "date" for an evening of lust and happy ending.

Death, they say, acquits us of all obligations, but when a death-oath is given, it's to be taken seriously. There's only so much you can do to spit in the eyes of Karma before it comes to collect it's due. Life is a 'wandering to find home'… but for some people, after death the obligations can become even heavier still.
