"Date" update

Posted at

Since I have the worst track record with "Date" I wouldn't to give an update on progress. I am still intending on sticking with a chapter updated every two weeks (for both "Date" and "Resume"). So far that is looking doable. I've got two more chapters for "Date" written, and plan om having it to three or four before I submit the next chapter. I'm taking advantage of some 12 hour guard shifts where I don't have a whole lot really going on with them, so that should help also. Basically I came to say this: "Date" will not be going inactive again. I'm currently up to roughly October or my senior year of high school. So the last few chapters will be covering that final part of school and maybe a couple months after graduation. There's also still two more instances of my future wife hunting she wants something more than juat friendship. The end is in sight now.

New "Army Life" story

So you guys get to benefit (or suffer from), my having been in a writing mood and on a 12 hour Sunday guard shift where absolutely...nothing...happened. so I was productive. I resurrected my "Date" story by writing and posting the next chapter. Then I took a break from that and wrote an Army Life story and have just submitted that to the queue. Hopefully I'm not the only one who finds it funny.

Update: "Date"

So "First and Second Date" has officially been resurrected. I wanted to get rid of the yellow inactive tag, so I decided to post this chapter after I've finished it. I will still be targeting a chapter every 2 weeks. I'm thinking this story can probably be finished within 2 to 5 chapters, but we'll see.

If there are any of the old fans of "Date" still around I apologize this has been i active so long, but it will be finished. For any new fans to the story: welcome aboard. Please keep in mind though that the "Date" story is largely factual. I have exaggerated some things to create more interest, but at heart it is a true story.

Another update: "Resume". A plan: "First and Second Date"

The update first: chapter 14 for "Resume" has been submitted to the queue. I am planning on still sticking with the posting achedule of a chapter every 2 weeks (or better).
Now to address "First and Second Date" (will be shortened down to "Date" going forward.) I am planning on starting to write again on "Date". The first step has been reading my own writing again. While it is a largely true story, there have been fictional additions. I should be able to resume writing within the next week. I will however be balancing that with "Resume" and still work both. So that I don't lose momentum on posting for "Date" I will continue my pattern of not posting a chapter until I have at least three queued up (or finish the story). I do have an educated guess that "Date" will reach its conclusion before "Resume" does. But for now it will give me something to work on when I have a writer's block on "Resume". To any fans of "Date": welcome back. I apologize it's taken this long. I would like to think I am in a better head space and will be able to finish this story. As I've said, it's at heart a true story and aspects of it are painful to write.

Update "Resume" and "First and Second Date"

So I got some good input so far about whether I should post sooner since I'm ahead of schedule. However, I think what I'm going to do is take advantage of that and alternate what I'm writing. I think I'm in a position where when I need a break from "Resume" I can work on "Date", resurrect and even finish that story. That being said, I will still keep my schedule for "Resume", but "Date" will fill in some time and eventually get finished. Plus, I have to admit it will be nice to get rid of that annoying yellow inactive strip on my list of stories. With a little luck this will help my original fans of that story feel better about it finally getting continued and finished. Though I will say there are probably less remaining chapters there for "Date" than there are for "Resume", since "Date" has a set end point and "Resume" is still undetermined.

As always, thanks for your input and comments on my writing. That's the stuff that keeps it going.
