A deadly virus sweeps the world bringing dead back to life. A Think Tank Group is at the Cheyenne Mountain Complex when the alert is issued. Its senior members join in a conference with the Commander of the United States Northern Command who relays their orders from the Pentagon. Maximilian 'Mad Max' Milton, the 2nd in-charge of the Think Tank gives reason to his nickname, and the war is on with those afflicted with The Contagion. A General's chief-of-staff uncovers a plot to steal nuclear weapons and is grievously injured in the denouement. He manage to secure an inactive air base used as a junk yard for over fifty years. The old cold war base hides secrets which repay him many fold. This has been a simple one-pass write as a gift for the holiday season. I have no doubts that errors will sprout like dandelions in the spring, but please accept it as it is--a hand-made gift with all of its flaws.

In a muddy slit trench, Airman Kathy Wilkins watched delta-winged drones falling from the blood-red sky, as they dove with their explosive payloads, while cruise missiles streaked overhead. The ground shook with each hit. She held the other airman in her arms; both were hurt. They kissed. Wilkins was supposed to be going home today. Was this war? A Stinger missile streaked into the air.
