My wife and I had been watching the Hallmark Channel (too much) lately. This is my somewhat irreverent take on a "Girl from the States meets Prince" story. It will be an additional challenge since I'm writing it from the girl's perspective. As usual, don't look for sex. Do expect religious overtones. A Prince about to become a King to relieve his uncle who has served as Regent during the Prince's childhood, discovers the kingdom is agog with reported sightings of the flowering of a Chocolate Rose in mid-winter, alleged to smell, feel and taste of rich dark chocolate. The Prince investigates and uncovers a plot to steal his throne.

Prince Melikov has received this privilege for centuries. The young, to-the-manor-born Alexei is this year's offering and Prince Melikov has come to take delivery.
