Along the way, they gain unexpected emotional and sexual insights; but a sudden plunge casts them adrift, separately, towards nightmares, temptation, and domination. The tunnel becomes a crucible, which will either reforge or destroy them.

The story, part of the Wizards' series, is dark, and something of a tear-jerker. I wrote the story in response to a song. It can be read as a stand-alone, although it's best understood if you've read Combat Wizard (on SOL) and the remaining stories in the Wizard series on Bookapy.
