A man visits the grave of a little-known silent movie actress, as he has been doing for years. She was not his wife, but he has a history with her. There is a twist at the end.
A Country Boy, City Girl Story This is the story of the "Country Boy, City Girl" saga, as told by Linda from her point of view. It is not required to have read "Country Boy, City Girl" first, but the pacing and reason for chapter breaks will make more sense if you do read it.
This one is based on an old elegy, and because of that, the style of the story is very different from that which I normally use. I hope you enjoy it anyway. (Any guesses on what it is based?)
In a small Rocky Mountain town, Allen wakes to flames in his bedroom window. Cedar Grove has a brand new 1954-model Fire Truck, but fire destroys his neighbor Kitty's home and business. She's fled to his back door in a flimsy nightgown soaked with icy slush. Within an hour, she's dry, naked, and sharing his bed for, ah, warmth. A romantic story with frequent sex, danger, some military history, and even a surprise pregnancy.
Mark had always considered himself the luckiest man alive. Overweight and ordinary, he never imagined a life where he’d be married to someone as stunning and graceful as Kate, a woman clearly out of his league. But the illusion of happiness begins to unravel as Kate grows distant and cold. Meanwhile, Julia his step daughter hated him. As Mark struggles to hold onto the crumbling threads of his once perfect life, something unexpected happens.
In this true story a mostly good man does a few horrible things; including infidelity, incest, and murder. Starts with Bruce deciding if he should join the Marines or Army near the start of World War 2. Names of the people involved have been changed for obvious legal and privacy reasons.
