The elevator let out a soft beep as someone stopped on my floor. Strange thing to happen at 2 AM but not impossible.

I got up from my desk and walked out into the hallway to see who it was. A few of the cute nurses from downstairs were wheeling a gurney into one of the rooms. They were the night crew that usually worked in the ER and were sometimes sent upstairs to deliver a patient when needed.

Doctor thinks she’ll be fine and able to leave in a day or two. So just keep an eye on her. The usual.”

“No problem,” I nodded, “I’ll get the file and give her a quick look. Is her family coming?”

“We notified the father but after letting him know she was okay he said he would sleep at home and see her in the morning.” Kelly shrugged.

“Alright. Thanks ladies.” I smiled, “Enjoy the rest of your shift.”

“Thanks,” They both replied and headed back towards the elevator.
