You may have noticed that stories by Gina Marie Wylie are returning to SOL. I bid a semi-sorrow welcome back. She is a favorite who left SOL to host her own story site beyondthefarhorizon and to publish some of her books for profit. (Her Kinsella universe books are still available.)

Over the years, Gina suffered a number of health issues, was no longer able to maintain her site, and gradually shut it down - finally closing it at the end of September 2025. Some few of us were able to send her site a final farewell. That's the bad news.

As of this writing, she is still alive. That's the good news and that Laz is porting her stories here, many of them returns that she had taken down. I understand, maybe mistakenly, that other authors' stories that had been posted on her site will also be ported here. Folks, this is a stellar author whose lack of new works will be missed. BUT do not miss her returning stories as they reappear. Some are not particularly erotic, but all are very well done. My favorite is Spitfire and Messerschmitt which I hope to see appear here soon for you. (I saved a copy when it was first published!)

On another note - my own work in progress, the DiD story Bonnie Princess Charlene slowly emerging. I like it so far, but the characters persist in telling me more than I originally intended. My fingers just don't work like they once did, and my typing skills were never the best. I never start uploading until a story is complete, so it will probably be a while before you see it.

I've spent the better part of this weekend working on my next story Bonnie Princess Charlene, my third tale in the Damsels in Distress Universe. In some respects, it is similar to Monica Mechanic because it follows the adventure of a Damsel and not a Hero. I'm not at all sure why I chose this way, but it is proving fun (although slow) writing.

Anyway, I've had several recent inquiries, and I thought I'd let you know. Sooner or later I'll be dropping another story into the queue. I'm thinking another month or so...

I just returned from another visit to north western Nebraska and the Black Hills of South Dakota. We drove in reverse the route described in my 1st ever tale The Times They Are A Changing. https://storiesonline.net/s/13522/the-times-they-are-a-changing

I started the story almost exactly ten years ago, and very little of the locations have changed. The story remains the most downloaded of any of my tales. Thank you readers for sticking with me.

Interesting. Six instant replies to my question. None from someone posting AI stuff. Five from readers, one from an author, here. Nothing good to say about AI generated stories - All avoid AI generated, but appreciate the warning label.

I still wonder what anyone gets out of posting something they didn't write...

Understand that this is an honest question and not a critique:

What is the satisfaction someone derives from posting a story tagged 'AI Generated'?

I spend hours creating, writing, editing and proofing my stories. Most have five or more proof readers/editors weeding out errors and making suggestions. Ditto this for the many stories I proof read.

I'm, along with Zen Master, currently proof reading a new (better than excellent) Swarm story by a new-to-Swarm author - writing in English - not his native tongue. Look for a story titled Be Prepared by Han Jansz. van Meegeren - chapter one now on SOL. The rating seems low to me, but then I'm several chapters into the story...

Anyway, back to the question. I'm not seeing much interest in such AI generated stories. I appreciate the honesty in labeling, and I can understand using tools (such as the long-existing spell check) to hone stories, but not posting something I didn't create and put a lot of effort into. Again, looking at download statistics and scores, I'm not seeing what the value is to readers either. Frankly, maybe I'm off base, but I'd rather read something someone has invested effort into. To do otherwise feels like drinking alcohol-free beer.

Thoughts?

And Swarm fans, Be Prepared, is worth the read,
