Chapter 25: Unexpected Developments

Island Day 19 -20

Darren James POV:

Things here at Ibera’s have become more intense than they’ve ever been.

And JB and I have been in on all of it!

And so has William Monte and the whole East Coast branch of the Family.

It started with the Professor, Brad, not being happy with the idea Ibera was sending the prisoners enough ‘modern’ supplies to make their lives almost as good as it was when they were on Earth.

He insisted it was going to completely change the premises of the whole experiment. Ibera felt that the unknown presence of the Gromoriks was what really changed the conditions and she was simply trying to even the playing field.

“Besides”, she said, “we’re asking these prisoners to possibly go into battle with them! By giving them all of the good stuff, I’m hoping they’ll be inspired to do some of the dangerous things they are going to have to do to hopefully help us rescue Bob, Mary and CJ.”

That’s how Monte and friends came into the picture.

We were already making tentative plans for Monte and several of his ‘Family’ to go there, under cover, and try to ‘infiltrate’ the Gromorik’s ‘Command Center’ in an attempt to figure out which spaceship our captured friends were on.

Even to the extent of ‘assisting’ Chen, since Chen knew them and really didn’t know they knew Charlie or Ibera. Besides Sheila (Jeremy’s girl) and Jeremy, Chen was the only other one who knew the Gromorik language as good as a native.

Jeremy had already been to the one here on Earth, but, couldn’t get far enough inside the ‘Command Structure’ to learn much. While none of them trusted Chen, even William was somewhat in awe of what Chen had managed to accomplish there, all on his own.

That’s why, when we saw him and Annie ‘hi-jack’ all the things from those Gromorik guards, we were all gathered around to see exactly what was in that backpack they ‘commandeered’.

William chuckled when he saw Chen ‘push’ his spell onto the guards, “That is one slick sucker! That’ll buy him a lot of time since those guards are going to be no help figuring out what really happened. For all their boss is going to know, those idiots fell asleep and just lost everything!”

Rex added, “And since the guards won’t even remember who the prisoners they had were, there won’t be anyone looking for them, either. I can’t believe Chen had enough consideration for the natives to protect them like that.”

Bruce asked, “What do you think he was doing, trying to get them all organized like he did?”

Maggie (William’s lady and also a CIA Agent) giggled, “Oh, I wouldn’t put it past him to try and build his own ‘resistance’ force to help him out, later. Chen WAS one of the smartest Executive Directors the CIA ever had. HIS missions almost NEVER went ‘south’ on the guys. And when they sometimes got ‘sticky’, he was always there to save the day.”

William huffed a chuckle, “Except when he tried organizing a covert hit squad to kill Charlie. That went completely sideways and got everyone killed! I was damn near ON that one! Do you think he knows we’re using him to try saving Charlie’s Family?”

Ibera had the strangest look on her face, “I don’t think so and, we need to keep that part a total secret. That failed attempt to kill Charlie is what indirectly led to his losing his powers and eventually getting caught.”

I could tell that went right over Brenda and Brad’s heads.

Sarah and Linda had told me and JB ALL about it and that’s when I learned just how slick Bob really was.

Even Rex and Jeremy said, when it came to ‘tactics’, Bob thought WAY outside the box. Rex said once, “As goofy as he could be at times, you just gotta love the guy! He saved our asses more than once with his crazy ideas!”

Now we’re all waiting with baited breath to see what’s in that backpack Chen stole.

We were all tuned into little Zeus when he looked at what appeared to be a thin laptop computer. Ibera was shocked and told him it was their newest psychic scanner/nullifier! She had heard they were working on one and told him not to open it until she summoned someone more qualified to check it out.

She immediately ‘contacted’ someone named ‘Lars’, who was like some super intelligent Chaemarian engineer guy. He quickly ‘popped’ in using a Spirit Walk, but one he could also talk to us in.

Things really DID work differently up here in Ibera’s ‘Command Kitchen’! He was like a hologram, but very lifelike.

He immediately stared at the thing and told Zeus to go ahead and open it, but very slowly.

When he did, the scanning feature immediately started. Suddenly Lars gasped, “Whoa, this thing is much more advanced that I thought! Look, it’s picking up everybody who even has powers except those two with their protective bubbles up. It’s range is much more powerful than anything we’ve seen. It scanned the entire island, then focused on the area in the northeast quadrant. That must be where all of Zeus’ people are?”

Ibera said, “Yes. They’re all in that area.” Ibera started counting, “There might be a few in bubbles, though, because I’m only counting 14 active ‘targets’.

Suddenly Lars pointed to three dots that turned bright red. Ibera activated a second view and we saw Blaine, Naomi and Steve playing ‘TK volleyball’. “That’s why those three dots turned bright red, they’re using a lot more psychic power. Wowsers, I need to get this thing in my lab ASAP so I can analyze it further under more controlled conditions.”

Zeus asked Lars if he should try to see what would happen when the screen asked if it should ‘neutralize’ the contacts. Lars explained what he thought might happen and instructed him how to turn it off.

Monte shouted to Lars that something seemed wrong with the terminology, just as we watched Zeus tell Chen what might happen and how to turn it off.

When Zeus told ‘it’ to go ahead, Monte gasped, then we saw Chen begin freaking out! Suddenly, everyone but Annie was holding their heads and even we heard a high-pitched squealing.

Chen saw Zeus freaking out, running around wildly in circles, then he dove on the scanner, desperately trying to shut it down.

Ibera gasped in horror when Zeus, then Chen fell unconscious.

Apollo and Hera ported in after seeing everyone near them holding their heads. Apollo began frantically licking both Zeus and Chen.

Ibera asked Lars, “Are they going to be okay? Don’t their nullifiers just temporarily strip our powers? I didn’t know a nullifier could actually HURT us!?”

We looked at the second screen and the three who were using their TK were also out cold. The rest seemed to just be vigorously rubbing their temples.

Whatever Apollo was doing seemed to help at least a little. Chen, then Zeus slowly regained consciousness, rubbing their temples like they had a massive hangover.

Apollo immediately ported back to help Blaine, Naomi and Steve at Athena’s desperate urgings.

Lars sighed deeply, “These guys have really made some extremely sophisticated advancements! It appears this new device WAS using some kind of ‘anti-psychic’ force to try and kill them! Or at least the psychic power center of their brains. It seemed to automatically sense the level of psychic power that was being used. Then, I think, it attacked that part of the brain those powers were emanating from with equal force, trying, indeed, to ‘neutralize’ them ... PERMANENTLY! Thank God Chen was able to shut it down as quickly as he did. Let’s just hope that thing didn’t cause any permanent brain damage!”

Brad just looked at Ibera, “Well, I guess maybe Blaine and Max’s group DO deserve that stuff! Do you think that thing really might have done any permanent damage?”

Ibera looked at Lars, who sighed, “We’ll have to see. What they’re really going to need is a full-fledged healer. Little Apollo isn’t powerful enough to heal them the way they should be.”

JB and I were looking at each other, wondering if we should try to get Linda ... and maybe Emmy or Jamie.

You see, we learned that while Linda and Charlie were healing all those little kids’ physical injuries, Emmy, Mary and Jamie were healing their ‘mental’ injuries. They were using very special abilities that they’d received from some ancient spirits. It’s a long story, but, trust me, if their ‘brains’ needed healing Jamie and/or Emmy would be needed to help!

Ibera had been reading my mind and begged me to see if I could get Linda to help! Apollo was getting exhausted and Zeus and Chen still weren’t looking very good.

I ported home and found Linda, Sarah and Jamie taking a break and sipping iced teas. I quickly told them my story and they summoned Emmy to tell her what was happening. Emmy and Sarah were asked to watch the kids since Linda and Jamie said they were going to be gone for a while.

Linda and Jamie were both coming with us! I wished Sarah could go too, but, this wasn’t going to be a pleasure trip.

Ibera already had the wormhole portal dialed up and ready when we returned.

She gave us our special watches and we were ready!

William, Maggie, Sheila and Bruce were also coming with us! Holy Super-Heroes Uniting!

They were all planning on staying invisible, but wanted to check out the area and possibly talk to Chen, depending on if they felt they could do it without causing any problems.

JB and I would also be invisible and both Jamie and Linda would be using their ‘Angel’ disguises the second we landed. We were planning on landing just South of the East/West Mountain divider so nobody could see us.

Annie POV:

As soon as Zeus told me to go about 100 feet away and put my bubble up, I got a bad feeling.

He and Chen had been monkeying around with this psychic scanner/nullifier thingy and after some hesitation, turned the damned thing on! The next thing I knew, they were covering their ears and Chen was frantically trying to shut it off.

I had no idea what it was doing to them, only that they were going crazy. I knew I was safe, but, when I saw them both pass out cold, I took a chance and dropped my bubble so I could try and help them.

Everything was eerily quiet.

Ever since I was given telepathy, someone was always talking to somebody and I’d gotten used to talking to anybody, just by ‘calling’ them, mentally. Now, I couldn’t get ahold of ANYBODY! The only ones I could finally get after a bit were Hera, Apollo and Athena.

Hera told me that the three of them HAD been in their bubble and only dropped it when they felt it was safe.

Apollo ported here, and was licking Zeus, trying to wake him up.

It took about 5 minutes before Zeus even stirred, then Apollo went to Chen and started licking him, too.

Another several minutes passed, and Chen finally opened his eyes, but he was looking ashen and woozy. I was holding him in my arms and he was just holding his head and kept moaning.

Apollo disappeared and Hera said Blaine, Naomi and Steve were also in really bad shape and desperately needed his help.

And I still couldn’t contact ANY of my friends! Not even Chen, who was right in my lap!

It seemed time was standing still and I began to cry.

Then, just as I was about to give up hope, my Angel appeared!

And she had another Angel with her! She quickly laid her hands on Chen’s shoulders and her friend was holding her hands on his temples from behind him. Within a matter of seconds, Chen’s color returned and his eyes shot open.

He stared open mouthed at my Angel, then gasped, “Oh my! I thought I was dead! Ohhhh, OHHhhh, whoa, oh please don’t stop! Oh Lord...”

I started giggling, knowing what was about to happen to him. My Angel’s friend winked at me and I ‘heard’ her, “She loves it when guys do that! She’s such a naughty little nymph!”

“Oh? Do you two work together often?”

She giggled, “We’re together a lot, but, don’t usually work together! This was a special case. Chen’s brain and mind needed healing and that’s my specialty!”

Chen then moaned in ecstasy and I knew he was going to be okay.

I giggled when he told my Angel he was falling in love with her! When she told him to also thank her ‘helper’, Chen looked behind him and gasped again, “You two are the most beautiful creatures I’ve ever laid my eyes on! Annie told me how you helped her a little while ago, but, I thought she was kidding when she said how beautiful you were! Can you help my little friend Zeus!? He’s pretty messed up, too and desperately needs healing! Please?”

My Angel giggled, “I’ve never healed a dog before?”

Then I heard JB!

“Um, Linda, oops, I mean ‘Angels’, Zeus is a very special little doggie, he’s like ... me and you. Please try to help him?”

“Oh!? Okay, come on Girlfriend, let’s see what we can do!”

Alright, I wondered ... just WHO is Linda? Could that be the name of one of the Angels? Does JB know her???

My Angel picked Zeus up and her helper held his little head in her hands. Soon his little black eyes shone brightly, he was panting, and his mischievous grin was back.

He barked once, “Ugh! You better put me down before one of you beauties gets a Facefull!”

Both Angels giggled as they set him on the ground and he had his ‘happy ending’! He looked up at both of them, “Thank you ladies! I feel like my old self again. Now, please, follow Annie and try and help Naomi, Blaine and Steve? Hera says they’re in really bad shape!”

I held out both hands and each Angel took one. I pictured Blaine and we teleported to him.

Zeus was right, Apollo looked exhausted and all three were just barely conscious.

When we appeared, Max and of course, Lolita were the only ones who’d actually seen the Angel before.

Max’s eyes grew wide when we appeared, seeing that there were now TWO of them.

My Angel asked, “Who should we do first?”

Blaine, looking bad himself, insisted they help Naomi first, so they did.

Everyone was still holding their heads, but gathered around in shocked disbelief that there were Angels here!

Naomi took slightly longer than Chen, but had a massive ‘Happy Ending’ that left her gasping and grinning. “Wow!” She gasped before giggling, “Can you teach any of us how to do that!? That was the ... DEEPEST, most powerful orgasm I’ve ever had. I’m still shaking!”

My Angel giggled, “Sorry! I don’t even know how to do that ... without healing somebody? And it doesn’t work if there isn’t something wrong with you. You must have really been hurting?”

Naomi nodded, “It felt like my head had exploded! Everything went black so fast I don’t even know what happened.” She saw Blaine and Steve still holding their heads, looking like hell.

“Oh God, I’m babbling! Please hurry and help Blaine and Steve?” She pleaded.

The Angels conferred, then decided to do both of them at the same time. My Angel stood between the boys with one arm around their shoulders and the other Angel stood behind her with her arms around their heads. She had her fingers spread trying to touch as much of the temple area as she could.

I knew what was about to happen next and so did Naomi. Her eyes were locked on Blaine’s groin and when he started moaning she, unfortunately, hesitated for a second. Then, she quickly jerked his shorts down over his rock hard cock just in time to get a complete face full of his jizz.

And I mean a whole face full!

Naomi had his jizz in her hair, in her eyes, with one sealed shut, running down her nose and chin. Very little making its way where she really wanted it.

Blaine started chuckling as she desperately tried to scoop as much of his jizz off her face and into her mouth as she could. “Babes, now that’s a sight I’m never going to forget.”

Steve just moaned, “I’m going to have to change my shorts, I think.” Then he looked at the Angels, “Thank you, for everything.” He chuckled, “I don’t know which was better, your taking that awful headache away or that unbelievable orgasm! I feel like a new man.”

My Angel asked, “Could you three check your abilities for me? Let’s see if they still work.”

We could all hear them mentally talking to us, then they all groaned.

Blaine grumped, “Dammit! I can’t fly ... I can’t even move a little rock!”

Steve and Naomi reported the same thing.

I looked over and Max was flying, telling us he had no problems at all. When I looked around, I was surprised that Zeus and Chen weren’t here yet. I summoned them, “Hey guys, what’s up?”

I heard Zeus groan, “Ughhh, we can hear you, but it appears we still don’t have any of our other abilities. Annie, why don’t you teleport over here and get us? If you still can?”

I knew something very bad must have happened if between both Angels, they still couldn’t restore their abilities. When I ported to them, both Zeus and Chen said they felt great, but their telepathy was the only ability they had.

Within seconds we were all back in the general area that most of our family was located, namely, in front of the shed they’d put near the mouth of the big cave.

The Angels were busy going around healing everyone’s headaches, two a time. It was curious, that none of the others received a happy ending. Maybe their injuries weren’t severe enough?

Lolita and George begged off, saying little Apollo had included them in his bubble just before Zeus activated, what he believed was the nullifier.

Chen looked at Zeus, “I don’t think that was just a nullifier!? When you said it was a ‘neutralizer’, I had a bad feeling. In the CIA, when we said someone was ‘neutralized’, that meant they were dead.”

Zeus barked once, then stared at Chen, “NOW you tell me! Perhaps if you’d said that earlier, I wouldn’t have been so quick to see if the damned thing worked!!! Whatever that thing did, I’ve lost my communication with Ibera now. too. I have a feeling that even our telepathy is much reduced from what it was previously. It’s almost as if our Psy-centers have been restored to their original condition?”

Just then, my Angel let out an agonized cry, “Oh no! This could all be my fault! It never occurred to me that when I heal someone their entire body gets ‘reset’ to its original optimum condition. Like for instance, if somebody had their wisdom teeth removed, after I healed them they would be back, but they would be perfect. Or, one person had a severed arm and I was able to regrow it for him. Could it be, that when I healed you, I accidentally took away all your abilities?”

Everyone was looking at her, in shock. But then, little Hera said, “Ibera just told me that this wasn’t the Angel’s fault. She wanted me to remind her that she’s healed others with psychic abilities before. And they didn’t lose any of their abilities. No, Ibera says that her guy, Lars, who is on his way here right now, said that the Angel simply does not have the ability to restore psychic abilities that she did not give. That device took away your abilities. Therefore, this is in no way her fault.”

It was breaking my heart to see my Angel cry like she was doing. Several of the guys, including Chen, obviously felt the same way and quickly surrounded her with warm, heartfelt hugs.

Lucy had been listening and had her hand up, waving it, trying to get someone’s attention. Chen saw her and asked what she wanted.

“I’m really sorry to interrupt, but, Miss Angel, did you say you can restore someone’s missing arm?”

My angel nodded, “Yes I did. Why? Do you know somebody that needs my help?”

She looked down at her feet, then said shyly, “My boy ... friend, Lonnie, lost his hand a little while back. Do you think you could restore it for him?”

My Angel smiled and nodded, “Absolutely. Where is he? Can you take me to him?”

What my Angel didn’t see was the many odd and knowing looks going back and forth between many of us. We should have included Lonnie with those needing healing, because he was still in some pain from being stabbed in the back.

When I looked at Chen, he grinned and winked, then said, “Come with me, my Sweet Angel. I should’ve asked you to tend to him sooner, he was severely hurt yesterday and our little healer, Apollo, has been trying to heal him. Unfortunately, his powers are obviously nowhere near as strong as yours. I’ll accompany Lucy and show you where he is.”

Several of us followed Chen as he led our Angel by the hand to the cave where Lonnie was still being attended to by Apollo.

My Angel took one look at him and asked, “You must be Lonnie?”

Seeing her brilliance startled him and he gasped, “Yes ma’am, I’m Lonnie. Oh my, I never believed Annie’s story that she’d been healed and helped by an ANGEL.” He grimaced and a sad expression came over his face, “I’ve been a fool and really don’t deserve someone as beautiful as you wanting to help me”

She knelt by his side then said, “You needn’t feel bad, Lonnie. Most of the people I’ve helped didn’t believe in angels, either.” She giggled lightly then added, “but most of them do after I’ve finished!”

Lonnie smiled, “Oh, I’m starting to believe it now. My new little friend, Apollo, has made a huge difference since he’s been licking my wounds. Yesterday, when I was rescued, I was nearly dead.” He then looked at little Apollo, “Are you going to take offense, little buddy, if I let her have a crack at this?”

We all heard Apollo bark once and chuckle, “Certainly not. This lady is an expert whereas I am merely an apprentice. I will enjoy watching what she does.”

The Angel reached down and petted the little guy and scratched behind his ears, “Here Apollo, give me your paw and we’ll heal him together, okay?”

I couldn’t believe the grin on Apollo’s little face when they touched Lonnie’s body and within seconds the wound on his back and stomach closed up and disappeared. I looked at Lonnie’s hand, and literally watched it grow back. Then I giggled as Lonnie began moaning and gasping into his ‘happy ending’.

When I looked at Lucy, she had her hands together and was weeping.

Lonnie was extremely embarrassed that his shorts were now completely soaked. He looked up at Lucy and mouthed the words, ‘I love you, Babes’, before looking right at the Angel, “Miss Angel, I’m not sure, but somewhere in my life I must’ve done something good. That’s the only way I could possibly explain how you could find it in yourself to heal someone as despicable as me. I wish there was some way I could repay you. I promise, I’ll never doubt that angels exist, ever again.”

I could tell that my Angel was touched by his sincerity.

She stroked his face then said, “If you’ll promise me to use your new hand for good and help all of your friends here, you can consider us even. I’m not sure about all of the despicable things you’ve ever done, but, like the other ones here on this island, most of them have really been trying to turn their lives around. I’d like you to join them and promise to never turn on them again. Can you do that?”

Lonnie was staring at his regrown hand and flexed it a couple times. He smiled at my Angel, “You have my word, Ma’am. I never thought I’d ever have the use of my right hand again. I can’t wait to help all my new friends make our lives here better and easier. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.”

Apollo then yipped a couple times and added, “Um, Miss Angel? Missy Ibera wanted me to ask you if by healing all these women, did you possibly undo the temporary menopause she had them under?”

The Angel’s eyes popped wide open and she gasped, “Oh gee, I really don’t know. I suppose it’s possible. If I did, then they should have their periods in the next month or so.” She looked up at me, “Annie, when I healed you, did you have a period right away?”

I know my eyes popped wide open when I gasped, “Um, no, I haven’t had a period since I’ve been here. Oh shit, are you saying I could be pregnant?”

My Angel rushed over to me and put her hands on my lower abdomen. When I saw her forcibly close her eyes ... I just knew what she was about to say.

“I’m sorry Annie, but it looks like you’re pregnant! It’s very early yet, but I have to guess you’re only about five days along.” She looked around and spotted Lolita, clinging to George. She called to her, “Lolita, maybe you should come over here and let me check you too?”

Lolita looked terrified, “Miss Ibera never said anything about any temporary menopause. I don’t even know what that means?”

Suddenly Apollo yipped again, “Missy Ibera said she never asked Lolita because things were so chaotic at the time, therefore Lolita was never given it.”

I told Lolita she needed to let the Angel check her. Again, my Angel’s eyes closed and she looked at Lolita apologetically, “I’m sorry Lolita, you’re pregnant too and just like Annie, it happened five days ago.”

I flashed a private message to JB, “I think you’re going to be a daddy, Lover. And your buddy Darren is too! JB...?”

JB POV:

Oh SHIT.

Five days ago I was blissfully filling my sweet Annie with multiple doses of my ‘baby batter’! I never once even thought about getting her pregnant! I was there when Ibera put that ‘menopause’ spell on her and thought she was 100% ‘safe’. And I’m sure Darren thought Lolita was safe too, although, now that I think about it, with her and her brothers suddenly getting separated from Elmer, I think Ibera may have forgotten to even ASK her!

Now Annie is calling out to me and I don’t know WHAT to do!? I can’t just leave her to try and raise OUR baby all on her own ... but, how can I possibly be here to help her!? UGHHH, I’m so confused!

I’ll bet Darren’s freaking out, too.

Granted, both girls have had sex, multiple times, with many of the guys here, so right now, I’d bet most of THEM are wondering who the ‘Daddies’ are?

The thing is, somehow, I just know this baby is mine.

I have to send Annie a ‘private’ reply before she thinks I’m freaking out, “Ummm ... I’m here sweetheart and I’m NOT going to let you go through this alone...”

“Oh JB, I love you! You know that, right? I know you want to be here ... but, I also know that’s impossible. This ISN’T your fault!” She suppressed a giggle, “Except for the timing being exact, it could be ANY of the guys here, and Chen is looking at me like an expectant father!”

When I looked around I saw most of the guys looking at Annie and Lolita with wondering stars in their eyes.

It started making me jealous! The idea of my future son or daughter never knowing me was making me ‘mentally irregular’ right now.

Darren came into my head, also in ‘private’ mode, “JB, this is making me crazy! I just KNOW Lolita’s baby is MINE. Damn, she seems so fragile right now. She’s clinging to George like a life preserver! I’ll bet he thinks it’s HIS baby. He didn’t even make love to her till four days ago! Aaargh, I gotta figure out a way to be able to stay here. What about you, Buddy?”

“I KNOW, but, how the hell are we ever gonna fit in here? These guys might just try to kill us if they figure out WE’RE the babies’ fathers! Know what I mean?”

“Yeah”, I told Darren, “It’s like, ‘how DARE you come here and knock-up OUR women, then leave US to deal with it?’ We’d be public enemy #1. What are we going to DO?”

Just then, Chen came over and put his arm around ‘my’ Annie, “Don’t worry, Baby. Any of us could be the father, but, we’ll ALL be your baby’s Daddies. That goes for Lolita, too.

Blaine went over and hugged Lolita, “That’s right, Little One. We know you didn’t purposely get pregnant just to burden us. We’re all one big Family now and the ‘Family’ will take care of you.”

Linda came into my and Darren’s heads, “I’m really sorry guys, but, I don’t know how much longer Jamie and I can maintain our Angel personas. We’re going to make our excuses and go join Monte and his crew. Ibera said she’s hitching a ride here with Lars and should be here in a couple hours. She’s got a few things she wants to tell everyone, so, p l e a s e, don’t do anything crazy till she gets here, okay? I know you’re heads are kinda messed up, but, you heard the guys. Annie and Lolita are in good hands. I can tell you’re both concerned and upset, but, all is not lost. Ibera won’t let you fall out of the loop. Who knows, she might even be able to help?”

“Yeah, but this IS freaking me out! You know?” I said in frustration.

Linda giggled, “Oh, you haven’t SEEN freaked out! You shoulda seen Bob’s eyes when he was first told we were having TWINS. Hee-hee.”

“Maybe, but, at least you both knew who the parents were ... right?”

Giggle, “Yes, but, just like Blaine and Chen told the girls, ‘the Family’ were all going to help, that’s how WE already felt.
