We’re having a war and we want you to come;
So the Pig began to whistle and to beat upon the drum.
We’ll give you a gun and we’ll give you a hat.
The Pig began to whistle when they told the Piggies that .1

The Pig put on his webbing and they marched him up and down.
He did it with a whistle so they gave him sand to pound.
He crossed the burning desert and he trekked the arctic night,
Then they made him do it over ‘til he’d learned to do it right .1

The Pig cleaned his webbing and he shined his bayonet.
Some people started shooting so he shot them, with regret.
He couldn’t work an office and he couldn’t be a clerk,
‘Cause Pigs who like to whistle like to whistle while they work .1

The Piggy sat beneath a tree, his rations in his hand,
And went to work with P38, for everything was canned.
First monkey meat and crackers, he gobbled them right up;
Then John Wayne bars and peaches made a grand and glorious sup .2

The Piggy went a-swimming, a river mine to lay.
The boat, it carried contraband his officer did say.
But someone made a mistake, and Piggy never knew;
So when he touched the mine off, the breakfast cereal flew .2

The choppers, they were inbound and the patrol was nearly done.
“Clip the stickers!” cried the Piggy, “On line and downhill, run!”
The gomers were all lined up neat for evening meal,
Then the Piggies crashed the party and fed them all cold steel .2

The Piggies, they were tired so they laid them down to sleep;
Upon the sleeping Piggies, some bandits tried to creep.
When the fighting was all over and the living bandits fled,
The Piggy, he then counted seven bandits dead .2

The Pig bought a country, he earned it with his sweat.
He filled the land with corpses just to liquidate the debt.
He taught the people manners and it didn’t take him long
To teach them all to whistle and to sing the whistle song .1

The Pig sat on a hilltop, the crossing to deny;
If anyone would use it, they would have to die.
When a scout came a-peeking, the plot began to thicken;
A bullet through his brain made him flap like a chicken .2

Orders came to take the hill, so the Piggies went to slaughter.
Upon its steep and muddy slopes their blood they poured like water.
Up and down the Piggies fought, at last the peak to win,
Then orders came to walk away and give it back again .2

In Sidi Bel Abbes, the Piggy learned to march or die,
Then through the Aures Mountains, so tall against the sky,
They chased the dirty fels, through wadi, cave and field;
But when the shooting stopped, it was DeGaulle who said, “I yield.”2
