I've been struggling with the next part of Jake White (it is nearly written) and then this idea occured to me. It is a bit different and I have used someone elses idea, but the first paragraph will tell you that. It takes me a long time to write a story, not because I don't write very fast but I do a bit and then think about it and... so on. And then I edit and re-edit. There may be more of this, and more with the same theme, it has plenty of opportunity for humour. Oh and to the person who always scores me a one, 'I' - that's a finger, rotate on it buddy.
I've been through all of the stories doing an edit - not much so if you just want to read the new one - Opportunities - don't worry. Each story continues from the last.
I have such an untidy mind that people have had to work their way through this without guidance but now it should be better.
After 4 I thought I'd exhausted this story line, but a reader suggested there was mileage and I started with a bit of an idea and it snowballed. Quite whether the poor sod will be able to cope with the expanded business, the number of women and something which I will get castigated for because there is an indication that there might be an Ma Ma interaction but no details so if you don't like that... tuff.
Well, got all three chapters of time and again loaded this evening. i thought I'd turned voting off until it was complete but I obviously pressed the wrong tit. C'est la vie. Mind you some one did manage to mark the first chapter with a 1. I suppose it's rather like the old thing about a million monkey's typing only in this case just one of them managed to get through to SOL.
Dunno about the title, but never mind. A nasty story in three chapters voting off until the last one is up - probably tomorrow or monday, it is written I'm just editing.
This isn't like anything I've written lately, in fact I started it some time ago and then got the urge to finish it. Why, when even I can't find a redeeming factor in the story I shall have to put down to being depressed at present. Except that is a normal state for me, no don't bother to be sympathetic.
The third instalment. No sex whatso ever. I found I had made a historical error which, having posted second chapter I couldn't do much about. By the mid 1850s it is unlikely that many people would have opted for the sailing trip around the cape to India when in half the time you could use the overland route. Bugger! Things were changing at such a pace during this period that I suspect it would make today look quite tame, because they were not expecting it. Within 20 year's the trip to India went from six months to six weeks. By comparison the trip across 'the pond' has hardly changed in 50 years
